Lucifer and Mazikeen

For both Lucifer and Mazikeen from the hit TV series, we started out sculpting with model clay the base on what we wanted the face and body to look like when latex was then applied. Once the clay was dry, we applied baby powder to the clay and started to slowly add layers of liquid latex on. We made sure it was not too thin for it too be ripped, but also not too thick so that the details were lost on it. Once the latex was dry, using baby powder and a clean fluffy brush, we peeled away the latex off the clay to give us our homemade sfx pieces.

Next step was colour. We had watched the series recently and discussed about the details we needed. Because Lucifer is a devil, we couldn’t have bright red all over, so we went for a darker red to almost burn’t skin look with few shadow details to make it look more real.

Mazikeen was a demon with half of her face as appearing to be dead skin, so we created an ashen colour onto the sfx with highlighting shadows around the cheek and eye to look more sunken in.

Then finally it was the costumes to go with the makeup. Ghost had made some homemade wings using pipes and fabric with a pull string attached to lift them up for photos, and also wore a black suit for extra effect. For Ducky, a simple corset with leather trousers, boots, trench coat and brown wig. We didn’t go to crazy with the accessoires as we wanted the makeup to be the main feature.
