Spiritwalker

Ghost’s point of view:

Once I got the taste for building, I decided to build my version of a spirit walker. I first started off finding the right fabric for not only clothing, but once built was to make it more flowing and not showing off to much of the props being used. It needed a almost flawless wind movement, but also to look scary when it was coming towards you, so the fabric was light and layered to help give a death look, aswell as keeping it flowing.

The main prop that was used was with the stilts and crutches. I had to pretend to walk on all fours, so the crutches were used to help with not only being stable, but also not to put too much strain onto my back. I had also been practising at home walking and standing on stilts which I highly recommend that people new to stilits should also do. The crutches were covered with an expanding foam to look like bones and feet, then fabric to make up bigger shoulders. The mask used was a dinosaur (rwaar), but was painted by myself to look more human colour and added latex horns at the top.

As I am 6’f 4, I knew that I had to be aware of how much taller I would be on stilts. Therefore, the total height was 9f and we decided not to go any taller than that. With Ducky guiding me around the event, we had to be careful of spacial awareness and also making sure that there was space for us to walk and allow others to walk around. Also, ducky had to tell me which ways to go, stop, look etc, so I couldn’t be too tall otherwise I wouldn’t hear her. Here is the final look with our good friend Eddie who was dressed in a homemade Pyramid head costume, also with stilts.

Ducky point of view:

Following the year before with my half face look, i decided to do that again as the spirit walkers guide following the same making process as Mazikeen. I also tried my hand at some witch ruins which was made with scar makeup and then glued onto my face. We decided to keep the look small as I had to be careful walking Ghost around and it was my duty to keep an eye out for photo’s, other cosplayer’s and people around stalls so we didn’t bump into anyone.
